The Savonlinna Small Church was built in 1846, originally for the Orthodox church. In 1938, the church was sold to a Lutheran parish.

In 2017, the church was bought by the Finnish Orthodox Parish.

During the summer Opera season, night concerts will be held in the Orthodox Church of St. Zachary and Elizabeth.
